How Do I Accurately Check My Search Engine Rankings?

Google and like search engines want to give you the best results possible. They include a myriad of factors when deciding which results to serve you. A major factor they include in their algorithms is your location. That’s because almost half of all searches have something to do with finding a local location or business.

You may believe that being logged-out of Google will keep them from including your location in your search but I can tell you that it does not. This is because they use your ip address to still serve locally based results.

So, how does a SERP specialist find out their client’s position on Google that doesn’t include local bias? There is a tool called isearchform.com which allows you to search from anywhere you like in order to see those results. It is a tool that allows people who advertise on Google to see how their ads are being served in various locations. If you leave the location blank and perform your search, it simply strips out location from the search algorithm.

You can also purchase a VPN and change your location to search that way. But the isearchform tool is better in my opinion. There are also various SEO websites which have tools to perform this exact function. As far as I know, all of them require a subscription fee to perform more than just a few searches.
